INAUGURAL OCEANIC WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTOR CONFERENCE HELD IN HURGHADA, EGYPT
December 13 , 2005 - Oceanic Worldwide, one of the world leading scuba diving equipment manufacturers, organized its first international distributor meeting outside the United States in Hurghada, Egypt last month. Oceanic Founder, Bob Hollis, came to Egypt for the meeting as well as Oceanic’s Marketing manager and the managers of the UK, France and Italy branches. The meeting was attended by the Oceanic dealers in Greece, Poland, Israel, Russia and of course Egypt in addition to diving centers staff who were invited to participate.
From Monday November 14th to Thursday November 17th at Hurghada Intercontinental Resort, Oceanic organized a Sales Presentation for the 2006 products and held a Technical Seminar for the diving centers technicians to train them on maintaining and servicing all Oceanic second stages, first stages and BCDs. The attendees were invited for a full day of diving using the new equipment.
The FDX 10 first stage with the new patented DVT "Dry Valve Technology" with Delta 4 second stages was the participant's choice for diving. The DVT design offers a unique valve that closes the first stage and keeps the water & moisture from entering it. The new ATOM computers were also a popular choice. The ATOM is a computer that is small and watch size. It has the capability to switch between 3 transmitters with mixes up to 100% Oxygen.
The participants had the unique opportunity of seeing and trying the new HUD mask (Heads Up Display) developed for the US Military by Oceanic. According to Oceanic’s team, this mask will be available soon for recreational divers.
Mr. Rafik Shaarawy, the manager of Divoos – Oceanic Egypt, mentioned to Red Sea Bulletin that Oceanic specially shipped the technical kits used in the technical seminar from the DEMA show directly to Egypt for this event. “To have Mr. Bob Hollis, the founder of Oceanic, himself in Egypt is a great honor and signifies the major importance of this event. I also must thank the Red Sea Diving Association and its Chairman, Mr. Karim Helal, for his support of the event.” Mr. Shaarawy mentioned.
"This is another way Oceanic is reaching out as the worldwide leader in diving technology," said Doug Krause, Oceanic Marketing Manager. "We anticipate doing more of these international programs as divers and retailers realize the advances and options Oceanic products continue to provide."
Oceanic is a California-based company and one of the largest dive equipment-manufacturing corporations in the world.
